2. Judgment in Brief

The Delhi High Court disposed of a writ petition filed by NIELIT challenging an order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) dated 20th May 2026, which had merely adjourned the matter to 30th June 2026. The High Court expressed strong displeasure at the petitioner approaching the Court when the Tribunal had already listed the matter for final hearing on a specific date with a direction that interim relief would continue only till then. The Court deprecated the filing of such premature writ petitions, noting that they burden the judicial docket. The Court clarified that its earlier order requesting the Tribunal to take up the matter on a specific date did not mandate a particular Bench. It directed the Tribunal to take up the matter finally on 30th June 2026 and interdicted both sides from seeking any adjournment or pass over on that date. The writ petition was disposed of with these directions.
