Synopsis

The petitioners, Laboratory Assistants working in various aided colleges in Maharashtra, sought the revised pay scale of Rs.4,000-6,000 as per Government Resolution dated 27.02.2006. The State did not dispute the applicability of the resolution. The High Court allowed the writ petition, holding that: (i) the issue was no longer res integra as a coordinate bench had already decided similar matters; (ii) the petitioners were entitled to the revised pay scale; (iii) the respondents were directed to release all monetary benefits within three months.
